Lincolnshire Farmstays is owned and managed by Edward and Elizabeth Mossop. After our four children grew up and left home we wanted to retain the peaceful surroundings that provided so many happy memories for them and share them with our guests. We have created three unique self-catering stays each with their own private and extensive amenity areas: Holme Farm is a traditional Lincolnshire farmhouse sleeping eight. The Peaceful Woodland Lodge is set in our own private garden and can accommodate a couple or a small family. Finally, our latest addition for 2024 is the original and ornate Showman’s Wagon sleeping a family of four together with the Traveller’s Wagon providing an additional small double.

Lincolnshire has a rich history and the Lincolnshire Marshes were famous for its salt making industry and sheep grazing. Much of the land has been reclaimed from the sea and the past wealth of the area is shown in the magnificent medieval churches in nearby Marshchapel and Grainthorpe. This is an undiscovered part of the coast rich in wildlife and nature reserves although the sandy beaches and popular seaside resorts are just a short drive away. You are welcome to walk on our private farm tracks and perhaps take the route to Donna Nook where the grey seals come ashore in November to give birth to their pups. Visit the market town of Louth with its array of independent shops and make memories with a stroll around Hubbard’s Hills with the children crossing the stepping stones in the river. Our kids always managed to get soaked and now it’s the turn of the grandchildren to fall in the water!! Below you can find out more about each of the individual stays.

Holme Farm is a sensitively modernised farmhouse with all the amenities to sleep eight people. Two king-sized double rooms, a triple room and a single room. Large kitchen/diner and two cozy sitting rooms one with a wood-burner. This is ideal for families or groups of friends with its large outdoor amenity space and games room with snooker and table-tennis.

The Traveller’s Rest features two ornate wagons once used by the families of the men who travelled the country with their steam engines and fun-fairs! The Original Showman’s Wagon has been retained in its original condition since 1927 and, together with the smaller traveller’s wagon, these now provide the sleeping quarters for your holiday. All modern facilities are provided within the barns surrounding the wagons and so this accommodation provides comfort and a sense of adventure for those looking for something different.
Suitable for 4 to 6 people sleeping in 2 x doubles and 2 x bunk beds.

We were inspired by our trip to New Zealand and some of the accommodation there reminded us of our own summer house which we have used over the years for parties and a music room for our children. We decided to upgrade the building adding a shower room and fully equipped kitchen. We now offer this as a self-catering let for a couple or a small family seeking a quiet retreat in countryside surrounded by nature and birdsong. One king-sized and one single bed in one bedroom.
