The Woodland Lodge

The Woodland Lodge, in its private and peaceful setting is surrounded by woodland and open farmland close to a quiet stretch of the Lincolnshire coast. Set in 4 acres of woodland on a working farm our luxury lodge is a place to relax, connect with nature and leave your troubles behind.

Spacious and furnished to a high standard throughout, our priority is your comfort and so we have taken great care to choose quality beds and bedding to ensure your best nights sleep. The well appointed living/kitchen offers a comfortable area where you can eat and relax.  The efficient central heating system and insulation to the walls and roof means we can welcome you in all seasons of the year.

The veranda and patio has sheltered seating areas where you can enjoy a barbecue, sit around the fire-pit (logs provided) or simply enjoy the views towards the Lincolnshire Wolds. The unobstructed night-time view for stargazing, the sound of our resident tawny owl and the woodland setting make it perfect for a romantic break.

You are welcome to wander anywhere in the garden although we do prefer to keep the patio at the front of our house private. Guests cars can be parked on the track leading to The Woodland Lodge which is to the right at the oil tank when you approach the house on the driveway through the wood. Safety Note: We do have a pond at the front of our house and there are ditches around the farm that may contain water so young children will need to be supervised.

Outside, you are surrounded by views of the peaceful Lincolnshire countryside. Take a leisurely stroll along our private farm tracks and look out for all the abundant wildlife including deer, hares, pheasants and many unusual species of birds. Take a longer walk to Donna Nook on the coast famous for its breeding grey seal colony (October to December). Marshchapel is ideally located for exploring the beauty of the Lincolnshire Wolds and Marshes. Visit the Georgian market town of Louth and discover independent shops, charming cafés and local attractions that showcase the best of Lincolnshire’s heritage such as the magnificent Parish Church of St James. You can refer to our comprehensive guidebook below.

We like to meet and engage with our guests but fully understand if you prefer not to. We are more than happy to make suggestions for visits and eating out in order to make your stay enjoyable. As such we will provide you with Lincolnshire Plum Bread, milk, teas and coffee. There is a good Post Office and well stocked village shop in Marshchapel less than two miles away and a larger Co-op in North Somercotes ten minutes drive away.
